Bob is a native Mainer who on a college scholarship traveled to Australia where he met Mary. Both of us have agricultural roots and our mutual interest in livestock has lead to a thirty years plus relationship beginning back in 1972. |

We have been raising Dorset sheep since the late 1970's. We were attracted to the breed for their versatile capabilities. The ewes have a wonderful disposition. They are good mothers as seen with their ease of lambing; generally twin births; very good milk production and quick lamb growth. Also, the fact that they naturally lamb out-of-season gives them a marketing advantage over other breeds. Besides all of their good qualities, Dorsets are a handsome breed. More often than not, it's a Dorset that takes top honors in the show ring. |

| Maine is an ideal location and climate for raising sheep. Here on Blue Ribbon Farm, our rich pastures offer lush feed from early spring through fall. The ewes graze throughout the summer months under the canopy of the 100 year old apple orchard which looks out across a panorama of valley and mountains. Since we lamb only in the fall, the ewes are in excellent condition for lambing. We emphasis a stress-free life for our girls, which makes for a happy and healthy flock. |

We are centrally located within minutes of the famous Belgrade Lakes (On Golden Pond) and the ski areas of Sugarloaf USA and Saddleback Mt. at Rangeley. We place a major emphasis on welcoming farm visitors; it helps to keep sheep sales affordable and it allows visitors the chance to relax in the State which emphasis's 'The Way Life Should Be'. We have listed suggested things to do in the area to the right. We hope to see you soon! ~Bob &Mary |
